CTD arrests 'mastermind' of Peshawar airport attack

PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Friday apprehended the ‘mastermind’ of Peshawar airport attack, ARY News reported.

According to details, CTD personnel conducted a raid at Ring Road in Peshawar and arrested a man named Noor Muhammad.

He was said to be the mastermind of Bacha Khan Airport attack.

Officials said the suspect was associated with outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Here it is mandatory to note that on June 14, 2014, unknown culprits had fired gunshots at a PIA plane while landing at Bacha Khan Airport.

As a consequence, three passengers including a woman were injured, however the woman had later succumbed to her wounds.

The arrested suspect was also involved in attack on security forces, extortion demanding and other serious crimes.
