Dar assures withdrawal of administrative actions against PIA employees

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has vowed to withdraw administrative cases against the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) employees who were booked during a protest against government move to privatize the national flag carrier, ARY News reported.

He gave the commitment that all the administrative actions against the employees will be withdrawn by tomorrow.

Speaking in the Parliament today, Dar said that the committee has made amendments in the the Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (Conversion) Bill 2016 with consensus.

The bill seeks conversion of Pakistan International Airlines into a public limited company,

Dar pointed out that the government could pass the PIA bill with majority but it still pursued the course of negotiations to sort out the matter with consensus.

Minister for Law and Justice Zahid Hamid said that the genuine demands of the opposition members have been accommodated in the proposed bill and rights of employees have been duly protected.
