Dasti demands Khattak’s arrest

PESHAWAR: Member of the National Assembly Jamshed Dasti has demanded the arrest of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pervez Khattak over the alleged rigging in the local government elections in the province, ARY News reports.

Jamshed Dasti, speaking to media at the residence of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Tahir Nadeem, said that the leaders who cry foul of alleged rigging in the 2013 elections broke all the records of rigging in their province themselves.

“The local bodies elections were embarassing. Pervez Khattak and his ministers should be arrested”, Dasti said.

Dasti also stated that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will have to hold the elections again.

The National Assembly member also said that the budget for fiscal year 2015-16 is friendly for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and will provide no relief to the masses.

Dasti added that Punjab Police is following the orders of the politicians.

He also said that the country is facing threats from the leaders who are elected in the National and provincial assemblies.
