Deadlock persists in govt-PTI talks

Sources informed that both the sides showed no flexibility in their stance, leading to a stalemate.

Talking to media after the meeting, government negotiator and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar the talks focused on PTI reservations regarding draft proposal of the judicial commission. He claimed that many of the draft clauses had been agreed upon.

He hastened to add that efforts were underway to remove the differences of PTI.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on the occasion that the PTI didn’t find government draft for commission satisfactory.

“We were hopeful of the breakthrough in talks today but it did not happen,” he told.

He reminded that time-frame for talks was short. If the time period, he said, extends then agreement seems unlikely.
