Deepika, Amitabh's Piku teaser released

The teaser is a simple one yet is interesting at the same time. Deepika, clad in a blue dress, tells Amitabh that she loves the trailer of the new film. Amitabh emerges, wearing a small hat and looking bewildered. The Bollywood legend seems irked by the news and questions about his family’s lack of privacy as a result of the trailer airing. Irrfan Khan, who also stars in the movie, emerges onto the screen and, with an exasperated sigh, laments the father-daughter arguing. Deepika again responds that she finds the trailer perfect and what of the family affair, if the whole world is already aware of it!

“Promotion karega. Hamari family ka pura baat bahar nikal jayega toh?” Bachchan, asks in the trailer.

The plot of the film has been kept tightly wound and not disclosed much. All we know is that Amitabh Bachchan plays the fatehr and Deepika the daughter. Both Bengalis, the film is also a comic take on a father-daughter relationship. Through the teaser of the film, we are able to get an in-depth look at what the movie would be like. A funny flick that would feature father-daughter arguments to no end!

Deepika Padukone has scored back to back hits from 2013 with back-to-back hits such as Race 2, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela/ These films grossed huge numbers and made her into an international icon. Praised for her versatile skills, it is a known fact that Padukone can accomplish the task of performing in each and every difficult role.

The Deepika-Amitabh duo has previously been seen together in Aarakshan, which also starred Saif Ali Khan. It will be interesting to see how the two Bollywood heavyweights fare in a comedy genre and that too, in the presence of actor Irfan Khan!

 

The much awaited film is slated for a May 8, 2015 release.
