Now though there is no official confirmation from either of them but musician Shreya Ghoshal who was also a part of Bajirao Mastani had confirmed the news. She said  that she was also making the music for the film.

But later, she was quick to delete the twitter feed after reportedly being reprimanded by Bhansali over the issue and has reportedly been fired from being part of the film.

The news came amid much speculation over who Bhansali would cast in his magnum opus.  It is known that Bhansali was facing a tough choice between Deepika and Priyanka Chopra. Both are the highest rated actresses in Bollywood today who also have gained fame abroad as well.

Deepika will play the role of Rani Padmini in the film titled Padmavati. If Ranvir Singh is cast in the film then he will play the role Allaudin Khilji.  Actor Vicky Kaushal is slated to play Padmini’s husband, Rana Ratan Singh.

The film is based on the  historical tale of Allaudin Khilji’s obsession with the Mewar queen Padmini and her self-immolation. This seemed the perfect subject for Bhansali who wanted to take something other than romantic tragedies.

The details of the project have been kept tightly under wraps but Bhansali is said to have directed an opera on the subject in Europe. Last month Deepika was  asked if she was teaming up with the director once again.

The actress who confirmed that she will begin shooting her next film in September refused to give further details and even name the movie.

There are reports claiming  that the shooting of the film will start in September and will be shot in some of the most exotic locations of India. Bhasali is known for his extravagant and larger than life sets and we sure believe that it will also be a colossal hit as well.
