Deepika's father never gave her pocket money; actress hands over earnings to father
If there is any B-town personality that is an unstoppable force these days, it is none other than stellar actress Deepika Padukone. After multiple back-to-back hits such as Race 2, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, Happy New Year and Piku, the actress has earned big bucks it seems. According to some sources, till last year, Deepika Padukone was the highest earning actress till last year.
The dimpled actress recently shared previously unknown details about her life, mostly including her finances. Deepika Padukone revealed how she never received pocket money as a child from her father. She also revealed that till date, her father handles all of her finances, since she has no understanding of them at all.
“My father takes care of my investments so I don’t know much about it (where and how the money is invested). I am not too much of a tech person. I don’t understand what apps are about. I prefer clicking pictures and then printing them and putting them in album.”
Deepika Padukone is also the brand ambassador for Axis bank and has featured in several of their advertisements, although she doesn’t know anything about the financial aspect connected to such products.
It’s no secret that the actress earns a hefty amount even going by Bollywood standards, since she has endorsed around 16 brands. Some of these include prestigious products such as Nescafe, Asian Paints, Tissot and Parachute.
“I give money to my father and he takes good care of it. When I was small, I did not used to get pocket money,” said the actress.
Deepika Padukone was atop the rankings of the highest paid Bollywood actress till last year, as she charged a whopping Rs 7-8 crore per film. However, the actress was dethroned from the top spot by actress Kangana Ranaut, who signed a project for a lucrative Rs 11 crore. Kangana’s financial prospects have brightened due to her recent box office sensations such as Queen and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
