Defence Day: Change of Guards ceremonies in Karachi, Lahore

KARACHI/LAHORE: Change of Guards ceremonies were held at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi and Mausoleum of Allama Iqbal in Lahore on account of Defence Day on Saturday (today), ARY News reports.

Cadets from Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Academy Risalpur took the responsibilities of guards at Mazar-e-Quaid this morning. Air Vice Marshall Asim Zaheer was the chief guest of the change of guards ceremony.

The contingent of Pakistan Air Force comprises of 96 soldiers including four women.

Another change of guards ceremony was held at mausoleum of Allama Mohammad Iqbal today.

In Peshawar, fighter jets of PAF held a colorful flying display which lightened the sky.

It should be noted that Defence Day is being celebrated across the country with national zeal and fervor today.

PAF, in a statement, said that the air force vows to strengthen the defence of the country and the force on the national occasion.

The statement further said that PAF will always be alert to defend the country and ensure its security.
