DI Khan: ASI among four shot dead in gunmen attack

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: At least four people including an assistant sub inspector (ASI) of police were killed in gunmen ambush in DI Khan, ARY News reported Wednesday.

Four unknown assailants first attacked a house located in Mohalla Hayatullah with a hand grenade and opened indiscriminate fire there. The house belonged to Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) ASI Qaisar Jahan.

As a consequence, ASI Qaisar Jahan, his two brothers and a laborer were killed.

Sources told that four armed attackers riding two motorbikes continued firing for ten to twelve minutes and later fled away taking advantage of narrow and dark allies.

Police found 9mm shells from the spot, while the dead bodies of the deceased were shifted to the District Head Quarter (DHQ) Hospital.

Meanwhile, the DIG Abdul Ghafoor Afridi and DPO Sadiq Hussain Baloch also reached the site of the incident.

Police have placed security checks across the district in search of culprits.

It was further reported that this was the third incident targeting police officials and their families in the district. Earlier, armed miscreants had attacked the house of SHO Kulachi, Saifur Rahman resulting in the killing of two of his brothers.

A few days ago, son of SHO Saddar Haroon Rasheed was also shot dead near his home.
