Who wouldn’t want to see a film that features an ensemble cast, with Zoya Akhtar directing? The wait is almost over, since the movie is all set to hit screens on 5th June and we got a taste of what it would be like when the trailer released yesterday!
Ranveer Singh plays Kabir, a youngster who has dreams of becoming a pilot, but those ambitions might never see the light of day. Owing to typical Indian parents who take charge of their children’s ambitions, Kabir also has to follow his parents dream and marry the girl of their choosing. His sister, played by Priyanka Chopra, is not satisfied with her marriage and instead has her sights set on her former best friend, a character played by Farhan Akhtar.
Zarina Wahab and Anil Kapoor (with an awful lot of grey hair) play Ranvir’s father who cannot conceive the idea of their daughter divorcing her husband nor their son Kabir falling for any girl other than the one they have chosen for him. Kabir meets Farah Ali (played by Anushka Sharma) a free-spirited girl who is always up for an adventure. Both fall in love with each other quickly. Tensions get high and head towards a confrontational path when the whole family embarks on a cruise for Greece and Turkey.
Dil Dhadakne Do will undoubtedly be one of the biggest hits of the year, judging by the trailer. Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh enact their comic roles with ease and perfection. Anushka Sharma’s portrayal of an independent, larger-than-life character is also convincing. Only time will tell how movie buffs rate Dil Dhadakne Do!
