According to details, doctors boycotted the outdoor service at public hospitals all over Punjab, due to which patients had to face difficulties.
Doctors and nurses from Islamabad also staged a protest demonstration and blocked Hakim Luqman Road for traffic. The protesters chanted loud slogans against the government.
They demanded the government to immediately arrest the culprits behind the attack on Dr Shahid Nawaz.
On the other hand, a spokesperson for the Young Doctors Association (YDA) announced that as long as adequate measures are not taken for the security of doctors, outdoor service at public hospitals will be closed at 11 am daily.
It was further said that a doctor at the Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore is also being issued ‘threats’, yet no steps are being taken by the government in this regard.
