he two-member bench conducted the proceedings, which was presided by Justice Ahmad Ali Shaikh. The applicant, who was Dr. Asim’s mother, adopted the position that Sindh Rangers were trying to influence the case. She requested that police be ordered to conduct an independent investigation and Rangers personnel should not be granted entry into North Nazimabad police station.

On the request of Dr. Asim’s mother, the court issued a notice to Sindh government, Interior Ministry and D.G.Rangers till 15th November and postponed the proceedings.

Dr. Asim’s mother had filed the request yesterday, which Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto refused to hear. After this, the request was forwarded to Justice Ahmad Ali Shaikh’s court.

Yesterday, Dr. Asim had appeared before an ATC and said that his life was in danger.

“I was subjected to brutality during interrogation and will be devoured alive,” the PPP leader had said, requesting the court to serve him justice.

Rejecting all allegations against him, Dr. Asim Hussain had denied any statement admitting terrorists’ treatment at his hospital.

He added that his wife is a cancer patient, who is forced to visit courts and police stations every now and then.

“I was taken to my own hospital with hands cuffed,” he had said, while explaining his miseries. “The tiff is with someone else, but I am being victimized.”

“At times I am lured, while threatened on other instances,” he had said.

At this, Dr. Asim’s lawyer had intervened objecting that the testimonies of witnesses were recorded without informing the court.
