Pakistani Captain Shahid Afridi won the toss and elected to bat first in the match.

The green shirts could only score 96/9 in their 20 overs with only four of its batsmen managing to score in double figures. Saad Naseem, playing his first T20 game of his career, made 25 runs from 32 balls whereas Wahab Riaz contributed 16 runs from 20 balls.

Tail ender Raza Hasan made 13 (13) whereas Ahmed Shehzad contributed 10 (20) to the scoreboard.

Glenn Maxwell took three wickets for his side whereas Cameron Boyce grabbed two wickets. Mitchell Starc, Kane Richardson, Sean Abbott and James Faulkner took one wicket each.

The Australian side reached their target of 97 runs with six wickets in hand and six overs to spare. Opener David Warner was the stand out batsman for the team as he scored 54 runs from 39 balls whereas Maxwell made 17 runs from 10 balls.

Pakistani spinner Raza Hasan took two wickets whereas Shahid Afridi and Wahab Riaz shared one wicket each.

Maxwell was the named the Man of the Match for his performance in the match.
