Dum Laga ke Haisha: Trend setter or trend breaker

MUMBAI: Yash Raj films latest offering ‘Dum Laga ke Haisha’ is not only scoring big at box office but has also set many trends and have challenged an equal number of stereotypes, ARY News reported.

We at ARY News take a look at ten of the trends that DLKH broke or made and what the movie is about.

1.Whether it brought back the trend or set a new one, but DLKH showed that a family-centric movie can still bring lots of moolah and movies without ‘item numbers’ can also do well at the box office.

2.The movie brought back the great singer Kumar Sanu back from oblivion and he again proved that the soothing lyrics of a pure Indian love song are better than ‘Baby Doll me Sone di’ type.

3.The biggest plus of DLKH is that the movie’s female lead Bhumi Pednekar (playing Sandhya) in our opinion has beaten all Yash Raj heroines not only in weight but in looks, acting and has set a healthy precedent for Indian cinema by revisiting what the word ‘love’ actually means with her loyalty to the film’s cute looking hero Ayushmann Khurrana (playing Prem).

4.About his comeback, the great Kumar Sanu even told an Indian media group that he had offers for playback singing but he cannot sing ‘bad’ songs.

5. Bhumi Pednekar with her skillful acting and loving, loyal portrayal of Sandhaya has achieved for all the plus size talented girls what even Victoria Beckham cannot do by banning zero size models from her New York Fashion Week show back in 2010.

The Next Episode of this Article will feature on Wednesday with some revelations.
