The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today rejected objections of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Awami Tehreek and approved nomination papers of Ayaz Sadiq for by-election in NA-122.

It was further objected that the expenditures of the former Speaker have not been in line with his income. It further said that the election tribunal had ordered him to pay 2.3 million rupees, which have been unpaid due to which he could not meet the parameters of Article 62 and 63 of the constitution.

An election tribunal had cancelled election of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq from Lahore’s National Assembly constituency NA-122 on the plea of rival candidate and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
