The dancers – Shakira and Bardis – were imprisoned for inciting debauchery by filming a video clip including sexual hints.
The lawyers of the dancers contended that the clips were art works, which can be interpreted in a number of ways.
Earlier in March, a well-known dancer, Saffinaz, was sentenced to six months in prison for insulting the national flag after she appeared in a video clad in a dress in flag’s colors.
In July, another dancer received a six-month jail term over a footage sighting her wearing controversial clothes.
