Eidul Azha celebrated in parts of KP, Fata

PESHAWAR: Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated on Thursday in parts of Khyber Pakhtonkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Area.

Going by its years-long tradition, Masjid Qasim Ali Khan in Peshawar had announced to observe Eid-ul-Azha on Thursday, September 24 with the Saudi Arabia.

The moon sighting committee presided over by Mufti Shahabuddin Populzai along with 20 Ulemas of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan had announced to celebrate the holy occasion on Thursday (today).

Eid is being celebrated in various districts and divisions including Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Malakund and Waziristan areas.

In the provincial capital, Eid congregations were organised in the main mosques, including Masjid Mahabat Khan, Masjid Qasim Ali Khan and Masjid Dilawar Khan.

Following Eid prayers, people slaughtered sacrificial animals to remember the act of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), and distributed meat among relatives, neighbours, and poor people in their localities.
