Eight Al-Qaeda men killed in Multan

MULTAN: Eight Al-Qaeda terrorists were gunned down in an operation carried out by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and intelligence agencies here in Multan, ARY News reported on Thursday.

Sources said that on an intelligence report about presence of several terrorists near a river in Nawabpur area, the law enforcement agencies conducted raid.

The terrorists opened fire at the counter-terrorism personnel, which was retaliated by the law enforcers. In the shootout eight saboteurs were gunned down.

Six terrorists managed to escape from the scene.

Suicide vests, AK-47 rifles, pistols and hand grenades were recovered from the dead terrorists.

According to the security sources, two of the slain terrorists identified as Muneeb Razzaq alias Abdul Rehman and Zeeshan alias Abu Dojana, were involved in the killing of Brigadier Fazal Qadri whereas Tayyab alias Abdul Mateen is said to be the mastermind of the attack on Rawalpindi’s Parade Lane.
