“Construction of dams is now inevitable to control the growing power crisis in the country. The incumbent government is encouraging foreign investment in different sectors of the economy including Dasu and Bhasha Dam,” he stated this while addressing a joint conference co-hosted in Washington by the US Agency for International Development and the US-Pakistan Business Council.
The minister reiterated that constructing the 4500-MW Diamer Bhasha Dam was one of the utmost priorities of the government.
During the conference, the United States pledged support to Pakistan for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha dam project. The support was announced by USAID Administrator Dr Rajiv Shah and US Special Representative Dan Feldman.
