Eyewitness of Karachi bus attack recalls horrible ordeal

KARACHI: An eyewitness to horrible terrorists’ attack on bus carrying Ismailis in Karachi, says women and children aboard the bus kept on pleading mercy for life, but the attackers never relented, ARY News reported.

Police today recorded the statement of a bus cleaner who was also aboard the ill-fated vehicle.

Gunmen on motorcycles boarded a bus of Ismaili community in an outskirt area near Safoora Chorangi and opened fire on commuters, killing at least 47 on Wednesday.

The pink bus was pockmarked with bullet holes and blood saturated the seats and dripped out of the doors on to the concrete.

According to an eyewitness, as soon the attackers boarded the bus, he lied on the floor.

He detailed the terrorists’ first opened fire on all men in the bus, prompting shouts of children and women who begged for their life, but the attackers had no clemency for innocent human lives and shot them in the head.

The eyewitness, whose identity has been kept secret for security reasons, said terrorists’ were done with their foul play within five to seven minutes and easily fled the scene.
