Another face-off between MQM, PTI workers sparks tension

A large number of charged activists destroyed PTI election camp in Karimabad. Police also resorted to baton-charge on activists shouting slogans and indulging in violence.


MQM and PTI workers clash at Karimabad

MQM workers had gathered outside PTI election camp and chanted slogans against PTI. Two of the MQM activists reportedly thrashed workers of rival political party and burnt PTI flag.

Police nabbed both of the violent political workers. Amid the face-off, PTI workers also raised slogans against the MQM.

MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi also reached the site and asked workers to re-pitch  PTI election camp. Kanwar Naveed Jameel also joined Mr. Rizvi and tried to rein in party workers.


MQM Rabita Commitee reaches Karimabad

Talking to ARY News on the spot, Imran Ismail said PTI was trying its best to not to violate election code of conduct. But if another side violates the election code, then we would be forced to do the same, he added.

He asked why MQM workers are protesting at PTI election camps.

PTI leader Arif Alvi also slammed MQM for violating election code of conduct. He claimed that the entire NA-246 is backing PTI.

Couple of hours ago, PTI leader Imran Ismail, who is contesting by-polls from the MQM stronghold on PTI ticket, along with other party leaders had arrived at famous Javed Nihari in Federal B. Area to have a dinner, however scores of MQM workers also followed them and converged outside the hotel and chanted slogans.
