FAFEN report holds KP govt, ECP responsible for LG election irregularities

ISLAMABAD: Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) Pakistan in its report has stated that upto 26 percent of the Local Government Elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) were rigged, ARY News reports.

According to the FAFEN report after the recently held local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the polling in several districts of the province started late while at various places of the province the elections were totally disorganized.

The report also said that electoral laws were violated without any care in several constituencies while women voters were also stopped from casting their votes at various polling stations in the local government elections.

The report held the provincial government and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) responsible for irregularities and the unruly way of holding the polls.
