As Sarfraz’s unbeaten maiden ODI century steered Pakistan into the quarter final of Cricket world’s biggest event an ARY News reporter reached the batsman’s house in Karachi and met his family members.

The Family Speaks

While talking to the reporter Sarfraz’s mother said she is thankful to God for the victory and is glad that whatever Sarfraz played for his team and his nation.

The mother revealed that she gets nervous while watching Sarfraz play so she watches the match afterwards adding that the cricketer in his childhood broke glasses placed in the house to invite anger of elders.

While the batsman’s grand mother said that Sarfraz’s performance was above their expectations and the family is happier over the fact that Sarfraz brought good name and reputation to Pakistan.

Akmal lauds Sarfraz

Pakistan team’s former wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal too praised Sarfraz and congratulated him over his first century while sitting in ARY News show ‘Har Lamha Purjosh’.

” I know the excitement one feels at his first century and Sarfraz is the first wicketkeeper from Pakistan to make a century in World Cup”, remarked Akmal.

It must be noted that the cricketer’s exclusion from playing eleven triggered a media protest as both social and traditional media called for Sarfraz’s inclusion in the team as neither the team’s wicketkeeper nor the opener was performing well.

Sarfraz Ahmed did both the things with excellence as in his first game he scored 49 runs and took six catches behind the wicket while yesterday (Sunday) he scored his maiden ODI century to take Pakistan to quarter-finals of the 2015 cricket World Cup.

Sarfraz put on 120 runs for the opening wicket with Ahmed Shehzad after the former world champions had dismissed Ireland for 237.
