2nd January

US actor James Avery, most famous as Uncle Phil in hit 1990s sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” died on New Year’s Eve aged 68.

6th January

Actress Alicia Rhett, who was the oldest surviving cast member of the classic 1939 film “Gone with the Wind”, died in South Carolina on Friday.

 7th January

The film pioneer hailed as the father of Hong Kong cinema, Run Run Shaw, died Tuesday at the age of 106.

8th January:

Assailants shot dead a former Miss Venezuela and her ex-husband in the latest high-profile case of violent crime in the South American nation.

11th January:

Amiri Baraka, a controversial playwright, poet and activist who set a new path for fellow African-American artists by bringing militancy and verve to works about race in America, died on Thursday at age 79.

17th January:

Bollywood: Famous actress of Hindi cinema Suchitra Sen died at age 82.

27th January:

Mexico City: Award-winning Mexican poet Jose Emilio Pacheco died Sunday, officials said. He was 74.”We regret the passing of Jose Emilio Pacheco. Our sympathies to his family and friends,” Mexico´s National Culture and Arts Council said on Twitter.

28th January:

NEW YORK: Pete Seeger, who helped create the modern American folk music movement, co-wrote enduring songs like “If I Had a Hammer” and became a leading voice for social justice, died on Monday at the age of 94.

2nd February:

VIENNA: Austrian actor Maximilian Schell, who won an Academy Award for his role as a German defense attorney in the acclaimed 1961 courtroom drama “Judgment at Nuremberg”, has died at age 83.

7th February:

18th February:

23rd February:

Maria von Trapp, a member of the Austrian family whose escape from Nazi Germany and subsequent musical career inspired the famed musical “The Sound of Music,” has died at the age of 99.

1st March

NEW YORK: Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, who was found in his New York apartment on February 2 with a needle in his arm, died of an accidental overdose of drugs, the New York City Chief Medical Examiner said on Friday.

7th March:

Lollywood: Famous model turned actor Sana Khan died in a fatal traffic accident.

16th March:

NEW YORK: David Brenner, a stand-up comedian who appeared regularly on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson,” died on Saturday in New York, a family spokesman said. He was 78.

24th March:

18th April:

MEXICO CITY: Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the Colombian author whose beguiling stories of love and longing brought Latin America to life for millions of readers and put magical realism on the literary map, died on Thursday. He was 87.

2nd May:

LOS ANGELES: A Hollywood studio executive who investigators said may have been murdered was declared dead on Thursday.

5th May:

Gary Becker, whose work applying the principles of economics to a wide range of human behavior won the Nobel Prize in 1992, has died at age 83.

16th May:

7th July:

Lollywood: The lead guitarist of ‘Aaroh’ band Haider Hashmi passed away after losing the battle against brain tumor.

11th July:

Bollywood: Vetaran Indian actress Zehra Seigal died at the age of 102.

18th July:

WASHINGTON: Elaine Stritch, a husky-voiced actress whose performances over six decades lit up New York’s Broadway and London’s West End and brought a touch of the profane to the stage with her brassy personality, died on Thursday at age 89.

25th August:

LONDON: British actor and film director Richard Attenborough died on Sunday at the age of 90, the BBC reported, citing his son.

4th September:

Lollywood: Famous singer Habib Wali Mohammad died in New York.

Lollywood: Popular Pakistani comedian Maqsood Hassan passed away.

 5th September:

NEW YORK: Joan Rivers, the pioneering comedian died on Thursday at the age of 81 in a New York hospital a week after her heart stopped during an outpatient medical procedure.

11th September:

LOS ANGELES: Actor Richard Kiel, best known for playing metal-mouthed James Bond villain Jaws, died on Wednesday at a hospital in Fresno, California. He was 74.

30th September:

Bollywood: A 26-year-old Bollywood model-turned-financial consultant, Archana Pande, was found dead at her rented flat in Versova.

19th October:

LOS ANGELES: Singer and model Joanne Borgella, who competed on “American Idol” in 2008, died on Saturday at age 32 after a battle with cancer.

26th October:

LONDON: Jack Bruce, who formed influential British rock band Cream in the 1960s with guitarist Eric Clapton, has died aged 71, his family said on Saturday.

29th October:

NEW YORK- Elizabeth Norment, the American actress best known for her role on the Netflix political series “House of Cards,” has died at the age of 61.

4th November:

Bollywood: Noted actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar, who was being treated for lung infection at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (KDAH), passed away at an age of 64.

7th November:

20th November:
