FATA Reforms Committee meet tribal elders at Bajaur Agency

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the FATA Reforms Committee Sartaj Aziz and other members of the body visited Bajaur Agency on Thursday (today) to ascertain the views of Tribal Maliks, Civil Society and different political parties.

According to a press release by Foreign Office (FO), members of the committee include Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, , Minister of Ministry of States and Frontier Regions Lt Gen (r) Abdul Qadir Baluch, Minister for Human Rights and Climate Change Zahid Hamid, National Security Adviser Lt Gen (r) Nasser Khan Janjua and Secretary SAFRON Khalid Pervez.

“Tribal elders nominated by each tribe, office bearers of political parties, civil society and traders presented their views in a frank and cordial atmosphere. All participants thanked the Government for setting up the high level Committee to coordinate this important subject and for the Committee’s decision to ascertain the views of the tribal people before finalizing its recommendations”, the release read.

The release stated that the Committee will also visit Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, South Waziristan and North Waziristan Agencies in the coming three weeks.
