Accused Wilayatullah, resident of Dhanni Pur, a suburban area of Gojra, slaughtered his sons and wife in the night when they were fast asleep.
Nine-year-old boy Hasnain and his brother Saqlain succumbed to the injuries and died on the spot. The wife of the accused and another son were said to be critically injured in the stabbing incident.
Later, police arrived at the scene and arrested Wilayat, who is suspected to be a psycho patient.
The bodies and injured were shifted to a hospital in Faisalabad for medico-legal formalities and medical treatment of the injured respectively.
The incidents of unprecedented violence by the family members have been on the rise in the country. Another such incident recently took place in Karachi. A man, Hayat Khan, 20, attacked his 16-year-old sister Sumaira at their home in the Orangi Town for merely using mobile phone.
Speaking to AFP from his jail cell, over the motive of the murder Khan had said: “She was talking to someone at the entrance of the house, I asked her who was there and she replied why are you bothered it’s none of your business, I am free to talk to anyone.”
