“Still not joined any political party.. i m supporting all those who are working for this country or (doing) any progressive work for Pakistan ….,” he wrote on his official Facebook account. His comment however gave a sense of appreciation for PSP, which claims to have laid its foundation on the basis of patriotism.
Rumours about his joining PSP had gone viral on social media with his pictures along Chairman PSP Mustafa Kamal.
He had met with Mustafa Kamal during a press conference regarding announcement of Shahzad Nawaz’s joining PSP. Nawaz is a filmmaker, writer and singer.
While talking to media along PSP leadership at PSP secretariat in Karachi, Shahzad Nawaz said the sole reason behind his stepping into politics was (Pakistani) nationalism.
“All the political parties fight over their flags, while PSP has no party flag. However, Pakistani flag is everything for them. Therefore, I have come to join Pakistani flag carriers,” he said.
Mustafa Kamal said their caravan was started with a couple of people which had rapidly grown up to be the most popular party among Pakistanis overseas.
“A large number of creative, educated, scholars and other talented people have joined PSP now,” he said.
During all this media talk Faysal Quraishi could be seen sitting behind the PSP leadership.
