MQM terms Maulana Fazl 'pro Taliban'

KARACHI: Coordination Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday strongly criticized Chief of Jamiat Ulma e Islam – Fazl (JUI-F), Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman over his statement about terrorism, ARY News reported.

MQM Rabita Committee (RC) held an emergency press conference today at party headquarters Nine-Zero in Karachi.

Addressing the press conference, in-charge of MQM RC Qamar Mansoor lashed out at Maulana, stating “Fazl ur Rehman is trying to misguide and divide the nation.

Mansoor said statements of Fazl-ur-Rehman were against Karachiites.

Labeling Maulana Fazl as ‘pro Taliban’, in-charge of MQM RC asked why he [Fazl-ur-Rehman] is afraid in naming extremists and religious parties.

Speaking on the occasion, MQM Leader Farooq Sattar said Maulana  was in favour of 21st Constitutional Amendment during All Parties Conference (APC) but backed out later.

Senator Babar Ghauri termed Fazl-ur-Rehman’s statement against national unity.
