Female CSP officer sets herself ablaze in apparent ‘suicide’

LAHORE: A female Civil Services of Pakistan (CSP) officer, Nabiha Chaudhry allegedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze inside a government building located in Ghalib Market area of Lahore, ARY News reported.

According to details, police found burnt body of the deceased CSP officer, Nabiha Chaudhry inside her room at the hostel of Audit and Accounts Training Institute, Lahore.

Officials are of the view that Nabiha committed suicide as her room was locked from inside. It was said that a petrol bottle was also found from her room and the officer allegedly burnt herself after sprinkling petrol.

Meanwhile, forensic officials were also called in for collecting evidence from the room she was residing in.

On the other hand, Nabiha’s course mate Aasma while talking to media denied that her fellow committed suicide. She said, “Nabiha Chaudhry was an idealistic and religious minded lady and she could not have taken such a step”.

Our correspondent, Babar Khan told that the police say it is a suicide case, however the case is being investigated and it is too early to establish any fact as yet.

Nabiha Chaudhry had passed Central Superior Services (CSS) exam a year ago and she was on training at the Audit Accounts Training Institute. The deceased officer hailed from Karachi and was enrolled in 41 Common Training Program (CTP).

Nabiha had shifted to the hostel a few months ago.
