FIA contacts Kamal to assist RAW allegations probe against MQM

ISLAMABAD: After Sarfraz Merchant, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has also contacted former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal to assist officials in probing Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) supremo’s alleged ties with Indian spy agency RAW, ARY News reported.

The FIA seems to be quite active in probing MQM supremo’s alleged ties with RAW and alleged funding to the party by the Indian covert agency.

Director FIA Sindh Shahid Hayat on Saturday contacted Mustafa Kamal, former Karachi mayor who recently severed ties with MQM, and invited him to assist the FIA inquiry into the matter.

A meeting between the FIA officials and Kamal is likely in next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, FIA Director Inam Ghani also held a telephonic conversation with Sarfraz Merchant and invited him to come to Pakistan to facilitate the probe.

Merchant assured of giving an answer by Monday after consultation with his lawyers.

The FIA has already summoned Merchant on March 15 to interview him pertaining to the allegations he leveled against London-based MQM leadership.
