Police sources claim that some criminals opened fire on police as the law enforcement agency personnel raided Baghdadi and Mochko localities in Lyari on a tip off that some gang war criminals are present in the area.
Five gangsters were killed in retaliatory fire by police personnel.
Two of the killed terrorists belonged to Uzair Baloch group while the other three were members of Sheraz Comrade gang and were involved in extortion, murder and several other heinous crimes.
On the other hand, two dacoits were arrested in injured condition from Korangi Industrial area and recovered looted valuables from the criminals.
Police encountered the dacoits on Malir River after receiving the information regarding them.
A case has been registered against the dacoits and an investigation has been launched against the criminals.
