Five municipal workers injured in Charsadda bomb blasts

CHARSADDA: Five people were injured in twin blasts in Charsadda on Wednesday, ARY News reported.

According to details, the explosions took place near a police check post close to sessions court in the city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Sources said that the intense second explosion was heard in the far flung areas of the city. The blasts gripped the city into fear and tension.

Heavy contingents of police rushed to the scene after blasts and surrounded the area. The rescue teams shifted the victims to District Headquarters Hospital Charsadda for treatment of their injuries.

The law enforcement agencies have initiated investigation of the twin blasts.

The provincial government sources said that the wounded people were employees of Town Municipal Administration (TMA) Charsadda and were cleaning a drain near the police checkpost.

Bomb Disposal Squad, in its reports, stated that the first explosion was carried out via remote control and two kilograms of explosive material, planted on a ghee container, was used in the blast.

The bomb squad has not mentioned anything regarding the second bomb blast in their report.
