Karachi: Five ‘militants’ blown away, bomb-making factory seized

The counter-terrorism department raided a suspicious house in Orangi Town on a tip-off regarding presence of criminal elements. The terrorists opened fire on the law enforcers. In retaliation fire, at least two criminals were gunned down.

According to CTD in-charge, heavy quantity of explosives was found from the raided house. A bomb-making factory was also seized in a locality of Orangi.

Similarly, police team conducted a raid in volatile Manghopir area and shot dead three terrorists in an exchange of gunfire. One police officer also sustained bullet injuries in encounter with terrorists.

Police said the slain terrorists belonged to a banned terror outfit. Heavy cache of weapons and explosives were found from their possession.

Meanwhile, in different raids across Orangi Town, law enforcers arrested at least 30 suspects including those affiliated with banned militants’ organization.

Police claimed that some of the arrested suspects had confessed their involvement in grenade attacks, Hyderi Market blast and targeting policemen across Karachi.
