Majority of Pakistanis evacuated from Yemen: FO

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan Thursday said that a majority of Pakistanis trapped in Yemen has been evacuated, ARY News reported.

The FO spokesperson, Tasneem Aslam said that there no reports of the killing of any Pakistani in Yemen. She said about 145 Pakistani citizens in Sanaa are not willing to leave Yemen.

“A naval ship has reached Al-Mukalla port, which is bringing back 175 Pakistanis, while another ship has set off for Djibouti with 186 Pakistani nationals on-board, where from they will be flown home by means of a PIA plane,” she elaborated.

Speaking about rescuing the citizens via Sanaa air route, Ms Aslam said that the airport there is not fit for major flight operations and a small plane can only be sent there.
