FO summons Iranian Ambassador over border violations

ISLAMABAD/QUETTA: Iranian security forces continued violations of the Pak-Iran border for the second consecutive day, at which the Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan summoned the Iranian Ambassador and recorded strong protest over the issue, ARY News reported.

According to sources, the FO summoned the Iranian Ambassador on Saturday and recorded its strong protest over the violations of Pak-Iran border and the martyrdom of a Frontier Constabulary (FC) man in yesterday’s firing by Iranian border guards.

It was further reported that the investigations of the Pak-Iran border incident will be conducted jointly.

Iranian forces also fired five mortar shells in the Pakistani territory on Saturday; however no loss of life was reported in it fortunately.

Earlier on Friday, Iranian forces had violated the Pak-Iran border in Chokab area of district Kech, killing an FC personnel and injuring three others during an assault on FC convoy which was patrolling in the area.
