Forces launch combing operation in Faisalabad, arrest six suspects

FAISALABAD: Security forces in a combing operation in Faisalabad and surrounding areas arrested six terror suspects, citing armed forces media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), ARY News reported on Thursday.

According to the statement arrested terrorists were on the watch list of suspects since 2014.

The arrested suspects included suicide bombers, facilitators and recruiters, the statement added.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif had ordered special combing operations after the attack on Quetta’s Civil Hospital that left around 80 persons dead most of them were lawyers.

After the August 08 attack the military decided that intelligence agencies shall be given authority to go anywhere in the country and to arrest the culprits of the terror attacks.

Combing operations in Balochistan

The Frontier Corps (FC) and intelligence agencies in another combing operation in Balochistan’s Turbat and Tamp districts arrested seven persons suspected to be members of an outlawed group, a statement of the I.G. FC said.

The law enforcement personnel also recovered weapons from the possession of the arrested men. The officials questioning the suspects.

What is a combing operation?

According to a definition a combing operation involves systematic and thorough search of a pre-defined area in which suspected hostiles are thought to be hiding like moving a comb through the hair. A combing operation involves a degree of planning and intelligence gathering before execution.
