Four die as mine collapses in Mohmand Agency

PESHAWAR: At least four laborers were killed after a marble mine collapsed in Mohmand Agency on Saturday, ARY News reported.

According to details, 17 laborers were trapped under the debris as the Khanqa marble mine collapsed in tehsil Safi of Mohmand Agency. Political administration told that dead bodies of four laborers were recovered, while two injured miners were rescued successfully.

It was further reported that the political administration together with the locals is busy making efforts for the rescue of rest of the miners.

The assistant political agent, Zeeshan Abdullah told ARY News that the administration lacks machinery which could remove so much of debris in short time.

Another man busy in rescue activities told ARY News that a kilometer-long marble cliff was collapsed and that the chances for the survival of trapped miners are bleak.
