Four gang war accused arrested from Lyari

KARACHI: Police and other law enforcement agencies in night raids in various areas of Karachi arrested 11 criminals, law enforcement officials said on Friday.

The law enforcement agencies conducted raids in various localities of Lyari and arrested four members of the Uzair Baloch gang, sources said.

The arrested accused were involved in recent hand grenade attacks in Lyari, sources said.

In raids in Liaquatabad Peeli Kothi and Bandhani Colony, law enforcement personnel arrested three workers of a political party allegedly involved in various crimes. The arrested men were transferred to an undisclosed location for interrogation, officials said.

Police conducted a raid in Kharadar area and arrested three suspects. Illegal arms and a stolen motorbike was also recovered from the accused.

Moreover, police arrested a street criminal from North Nazimabad Block Q with illegal weapon.

Ittehad Town raids

Police arrested two target killers from Shanti Nagar graveyard, SP Baldia Asif Razzad said.

Police personnel arrested two hitmen Azizur Rehman alias Toori and Noshad Bangash from the graveyard who said to be involved in targeted killings in the city and encounters with police. The two accused said to be involved in heinous crimes in Orangi Town.

The police arrested a woman and a man, Bakht Beena and Ayaz, from Afridi Chowk in Christian Mohalla, for providing shelter to criminals and helping them in escape.

The police in a crackdown against Afghan nationals illegally staying in the city, arrested three Afghan nationals who allegedly involved in a number of crimes, SP Baldia said.
