Four infants die due to power cut at NICH

According to details, four infants lying on incubators and at the emergency ward of the NICH breathed their last when the power supply was disconnected due to a sudden fault.

Due to a sudden power failure, stand-by generator could also not be switched on, which led to worsening the condition a way further.

The spokesperson of the K-Electric, Osama Qureshi when asked to comment, clarified that the power supply was not disconnected from their side, a fault must have occurred in the internal system, for which the hospital administration is responsible.

Meanwhile, the parents of children under treatment at the hospital have also declared hospital authorities to be responsible of the tragic event.

They said that the hospital administration failed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to the emergency ward and incubators.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief , Altaf Hussain has expressed immense grief over tragic death of the infants, while he also extended his sympathies to the bereaved parents of the victims.
