From Thatta to New York, two impoverished female students to represent Pakistan at UN

The students – Darakhshan Jokhio and Sana Arain – hail from district Thatta of Sindh. At least 24 schools of the district were enlisted in the UN programme; of them two students of the Government Girls High Secondary School Thatta were short-listed to represent Pakistan in the UN General Assembly.

The duo will fly to New York on September 23 from Karachi. The girls will speak on issues of child rights and literacy rate during their address in the UNGA as student representatives of Pakistan.

Their documentation has been completed by the Sindh Education Department and submitted to the relevant authorities for further formalities.

ARY correspondent reported that the two girls belong to very poor families.
