The contingents of law enforcement agencies conducted raid at the house of Uzair Baloch in Singu Lane and arrested Sarwar Baloch, a key operative of Lyari Gang War. Scores of other suspects were also detained in search operation in the area.
Armed men opened fire at Rangers personnel during a search operation in Nawa Lane area of Lyari killing a personnel of the paramilitary force, while another was injured in the incident.
The operation was conducted on an intelligence report about presence of criminals in the area, a spokesman of Rangers said.
The martyred personnel was identified as Asghar. The injured official Rahim, was immediately moved to a nearby hospital for medical attendance.
During the search operation Sarwar Baloch, a notorious criminal was arrested from the house of Uzair Baloch, the chief of the outlawed People’s Aman Committee.
Scores of suspects were arrested during the operation, which was underway till the filing of this report.
