According to details, geotagging of around 7, 724 madrasas in different cities of Sindh including Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Sukker and Larkana has been completed. The advanced technology will help monitor activities of madrasas in Sindh.
Sources told 3, 110 madrasas in Karachi, 1, 291 in Hyderabad, 750 in Mirpur Khas, 1, 536 in Sukker and 1, 037 madrasas in Larkana have been geotagged. Meanwhile, 1, 184 unregistered and 2, 302 closed madrasas have been informed in written for bringing them in mainstream.
This should be noted that the technology of geotagging is being used worldwide to monitor buildings, while decision to use this technology was taken in a meeting of Sindh Apex Committee.
Briefing the media after the APEX committee meeting, Moula Bux Chandio, adviser to Sindh chief minister on information, on Wednesday said registration of religious seminaries in the province is inevitable.
Chandio had said the government would address reservations of relevant quarters regarding seminary reforms.
