The event called Asmita Parv was organised by a local religious trust where the urdu ghazal singer had confirmed his appearance. However, organisers said that Ghulam Ali refused to perform with giving any reason whatsoever. The four-day event would continue uninterrupted where several celebritiies would show their talents.
A local organiser said that he hoped that Ghulam Ali would be present to collect an award presented to him after conclusion of the event on 22nd April.
This is not the first instance that Ghulam Ali had to cancel an event. Previously events in Mumbai and New Delhi were cancelled after receiving threats from Hindu right-wing extremists including Shiv Sena.
