Govt compensates heirs of Peshawar school attack victims

ISLAMABAD/PESHAWAR: The Government of Pakistan has so far compensated heirs of 86 victims of the deadly Peshawar school massacre, ARY News reported.

According to details, the federal government is compensating the bereaved families of the Peshawar school massacre and so far relatives of 86 victims of the deadly attack have been given the compensation sum.

Government gave away Rs 5 lac each to the families of the martyred children and Rs 2 lac each to heirs of the injured.

Official sources told that rest of the 68 families will also be compensated soon.

On December 16, more than 140 people were killed in a terrorist attack on Peshawar’s Army Public School, which included a majority of children, while over 100 were injured.

The incident proved to be a game-changer in Pakistan’s fight against terrorism and led to a nationwide consensus on eliminating terrorism from the soil.
