Govt formally seeks FBI, Interpol assistance in Axact case

ISLAMABAD: The scope of investigations into Axact scam has widened as the Government of Pakistan on Monday wrote a letter to United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Interpol seeking their assistance regarding the case, ARY News reported.

The letter was written by the Ministry of Interior which stated that Pakistan Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is probing the case and requested the foreign agencies to help collecting evidences against the corporate company accused of selling fake degrees worldwide.

On Saturday, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar had told that the government has planned to write a letter to FBI seeking its assistance in resolving the case.

SHC denies protective bail to Axact CEO Shoaib Shaikh

On the other hand, Sindh High Court today rejected a plea filed by CEO Axact Shoaib Ahmed Shaikh seeking protective bail. The court however directed the authorities not to harass the CEO Axact.
