Govt determined to tackle power crisis, says Asif

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that the federal government is determined to end the power crisis in the country, ARY News reports.

Khawaja Asif, speaking to media at Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) headquarters, said that 18 hours of load shedding is taking place in those areas where pilferage is common.

“They (pilferers) also take out processions over power outages”, he said.

The water and power minister added that eight to ten hours of loadshedding was taking place. He further said that the industries have been declared immune from the outages.

“There are nine power feeders where line losses are upto the extent of 90 percent”, he added.
