Govt not to increase petrol prices next month: Dar

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday announced that the government has decided to retain prices of petroleum products for the month of March, ARY News reported.

No increase in prices of petroleum product is being effected, said the minister.

He informed that Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority had recommended Rs 5.8 increase in petroleum products’ prices, however the government didn’t entertain the request, he added.

The minister said that the sales tax on diesel is being increased from current 27% to 35%.

Regarding 22nd constitutional amendment for Senate elections, he said the prime minister was resolved in eliminating menace of horse-trading from the country.
