Govt to constitute JIT to probe Daska incident

SIALKOT: The Government of Punjab has decided to constitute joint investigation team to probe Daska incident in which at least two lawyers were killed in clash with the police, ARY News reported.

The investigation team will comprise officials of police, Inter-Services Intelligence and Intelligence Bureau.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has issued directives to the provincial administration to write letter Chief Justice of Pakistan.

At least two lawyers were shot dead during clash with the police when officials of Daska Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) along with SHO of Daska city police station Shehzad Warraich were conducting an anti-encroachment drive in Sialkot’s Daska tehsil when local residents and lawyers staged a protest, demanding more time from authorities.
