Govt to take Imran Farooq murder case to its logical end: Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali on Wednesday clarified misreading regarding his meeting with British High Commissioner Philip Barton on Tuesday, ARY News reported.

Speaking to media men today, Chauhdhry Nisar said his meeting with Philip Barton on the same day when MQM Chief Altaf Hussain’s was scheduled to appear before London police on money-laundering case was nothing but a ‘coincidence’.

About Dr. Imran Farooq murder case, the Minister said cooperation is being extended to Britain in Dr. Imran Farooq murder case by remaining within the parameters of law and the constitution.

“Dr. Imran Farooq murder case is very sensitive and arrest of central figure in the case is an important development”, he added.

Denying reports about secret cooperation with Britain regarding Imran Farooq murder case, Nisar said being an Interior Ministry he is not liable to brief foreign envoy over any issue.

“It’s not my job to brief British envoy and doing so would be an affront to my position as well as to the country’s dignity”, said Nisar.

Chaudhary Nisar while praising efforts of national security agencies in Dr. Imran Farooq murder case said although Scotland Yard has played an efficient role in this regard but part of Pakistani intelligence cannot be ignored.

Nisar said the Government has decided that the case will be taken to its logical end keeping aside politics.
