Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had increased the salaries of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) by 15 percent.
The decision of withdrawing pay-raise was taken in a meeting of NADRA board which was chaired by Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
The interior minister, while briefing the meeting, said that the chairman of the registration authority was appointed under NADRA ordinance for the first time in Pakistan’s history. He added that people were appointed on personal preferences rather than on merit.
He vowed to make future appointments in NADRA on merit.
